Video: Fresh Italy debutant Favasuli arrives for Napoli medical

Italian defender Costantino Favasuli is ready to become a new Napoli player, having just arrived for his medical tests with the Partenopei.

Italian full-back Favasuli is undergoing medical tests with Napoli ahead of an initial loan move from Serie B side Catanzaro.

Napoli will pay €1m for his one-season loan, with an obligation to buy set at circa €6m.

Regarded as one of the most talented young left-backs in Italy, Favasuli arrived at Rome’s Villa Stuart this morning, welcomed by several Napoli fans.

Favasuli, 22, scored two goals and provided seven assists in 36 appearances for Catanzaro last season, helping the club reach the Serie B Play-off final.

He’s mostly been used as a right-back, but he can play on the left flank as well.

This past June, he made his senior Italy debut under caretaker coach Silvio Baldini and played both friendlies against Greece and Luxembourg.
